Craig Bessenger represents clients in matters involving complex civil litigation and white collar criminal defense. His civil practice encompasses both plaintiff and defense side representations in both federal and state court. In his civil practice, Mr. Bessenger has experience with business and contractual disputes, professional liability actions, banking and mortgage litigation, intellectual property, and trade secret matters.
In his criminal defense practice, he has successfully represented individuals in matters involving alleged securities, antitrust, healthcare, and environmental violations. He also has defended individuals charged with complex fraud and money laundering schemes. Additionally, Mr. Bessenger has participated in numerous internal investigations, including a statewide internal investigation on behalf of one of California’s largest insurance companies.
Mr. Bessenger joined Caldwell Leslie & Proctor following a clerkship with the Honorable A. Howard Matz, United States District Court for the Central District of California. Prior to his clerkship, Mr. Bessenger practiced in San Francisco at Bingham McCutchen and Clarence & Dyer (now Clarence Dyer & Cohen).
