David Zaft’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including cases involving environmental liability, Federal housing tax credit projects, administrative law and regulatory compliance.
Mr. Zaft’s environmental work has included litigation involving soil and groundwater contamination disputes, common law environmental torts and CEQA, and administrative challenges to Regional Water Quality Control Board orders and Land Management Plans issued by the U.S. Forest Service. Mr. Zaft also represents tax credit investor funds in disputes regarding the management of affordable housing developments and the post-compliance period disposition of project interests.
Mr. Zaft joined Caldwell Leslie & Proctor after clerking for the Honorable Dean D. Pregerson, United States District Court. He previously worked for numerous environmental organizations, including the Earthjustice Legal Defense Fund and the California State Resources Agency.
