Eric Pettit is a seasoned litigator who has successfully represented plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of complex commercial cases, including securities and financial services litigation, regulatory investigations and enforcement actions, intellectual property disputes, and environmental and professional negligence suits. In addition to his significant experience before state and federal trial and appellate courts, Mr. Pettit has arbitrated many cases with AAA, JAMS, and FINRA.
Since joining Caldwell Leslie & Proctor in 2008, Mr. Pettit has provided legal services to an impressive roster of clients, including senior executives, A-list celebrities, music labels, movie studios, real estate developers, and Fortune 500 companies. While his practice focuses primarily on complex commercial litigation, Mr. Pettit also advises C-Suite officers and other senior executives regarding employment and severance agreements with complicated equity components.
A Boston native, Mr. Pettit had the privilege to clerk for the late Honorable Reginald C. Lindsay, United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He then spent two years as a civil litigator at the San Francisco law firm Howard, Rice, Nemerovski, Canady, Falk & Rabkin. Mr. Pettit also served as General Counsel and Director of Operations at Raider Planning & Construction, a small real estate development company.
