Aron Ketchel's practice includes civil and criminal matters in state and federal court. He represents clients in a variety of areas, including general business disputes, internal investigations, labor and employment matters, legal malpractice claims, and criminal investigations. Mr. Ketchel recently participated in an arbitration resulting in a multi-million dollar award in favor of a film studio based upon a contract dispute with a foreign distributor. Mr. Ketchel also collaborated with colleagues to successfully persuade a state prosecutor to drop criminal charges against an individual. In addition, he has worked with colleagues to obtain a writ of supersedeas from the California Court of Appeal to stay a trial court’s preliminary injunction enforcing an employment agreement’s non-compete provision. Mr. Ketchel has handled a variety of pro bono matters. Most recently, working in conjunction with Bet Tzedek Legal Services, Mr. Ketchel obtained a pre-litigation settlement on behalf of a single mother living in substandard housing conditions.
Mr. Ketchel joined Caldwell Leslie in 2007 after completing a clerkship with the Honorable Mark R. Kravitz, United States District Judge for the District of Connecticut. Mr. Ketchel graduated from Yale Law School in 2006, where he won the top prizes for oral and written advocacy in moot court competition. Prior to law school, Mr. Ketchel worked for various startup companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mr. Ketchel received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy with Honors and with Distinction from Stanford University in 2000.
